Booking and confirming

Once we've confirmed your date and space, you'll receive a booking confirmation email. Follow the link to enter your details or pay your deposit, and your booking is locked in. Until that's done we can hold a date, but it isn't secured.

For most bookings, yes. A deposit or a card on file secures your date, and the amount depends on the type of booking and your group size. Smaller drinks and nibbles bookings usually just need a card to hold the reservation, with nothing charged upfront. Our events team will confirm exactly what's needed when you book.

For exclusive hire, a minimum spend applies. It isn't a hire fee on top of your bill, it's simply the total your group needs to reach across food and drinks over the course of the event. We'll confirm your minimum spend when we send through your booking details.

We'll give you a confirmed deadline when you book, usually around two weeks before your event, with a reminder closer to the time. Locking your details in early means our team can have everything running smoothly on the night.
Food and drink

For most function bookings we'll set you up with a food order sheet, pre-loaded with a suggested selection of shared plates and platters to suit your group size. You can adjust quantities, timing and note any dietary requirements directly in the sheet. For larger dinner bookings we often offer a shared set menu, where our chefs choose a range of dishes so there's no detailed pre-order needed. Just let us know your menu and any dietaries a couple of weeks out.

A bar tab is the easiest way to manage drinks for your group. When you set one up, just let us know the total tab amount, any restrictions (for example beer and wine only), and who's authorised to increase it if needed. We can also arrange partially subsidised tabs, where you cover part of the cost and your guests pay the rest.
On the night

Decorations are welcome for exclusive hire bookings only, where you have the space to yourselves. For shared bookings, we're not able to allow decorating, as the venue is open to other guests at the same time. If you've booked an exclusive space, a few house rules keep things in good shape: no confetti or glitter, no sticky tape on the walls (it chips the paint), and everything taken away with you at the end of the night. Because tape is out, it's worth planning how you'll hang or display anything ahead of time.

Speeches and microphone use are available for exclusive hire bookings only, where you have a private area or the full venue. For shared bookings, we're not able to accommodate speeches out of respect for the other guests in at the same time. Baxter's, our private functions bar, has a microphone available too.

There are no built-in screens, but for exclusive hires you're welcome to arrange your own screen or AV. Our events team can point you to the right AV contact to set it up.

For exclusive hire bookings, yes to both. A DJ setup is available and can plug into the house system, and Baxter's has its own setup as well. If you're bringing your own DJ, it's worth having them test the system before the night. You can also add a Spotify playlist to personalise the music, and security can be arranged at an hourly rate. Just ask our events team.

Yes. The Glass Goose is wheelchair accessible via lift from Victoria Street. If you or any of your guests need access assistance, get in touch ahead of time and we'll make sure arrangements are in place.

We're a licensed premises, so all guests need to bring valid ID. Anyone aged 18 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times, and all minors need to leave the venue by 9pm.

The nearest parking is the SkyCity carpark, a short walk away, with street parking also available on the surrounding streets. We're in the heart of Auckland CBD, so public transport and rideshare are easy options too.

Baxter's is our dedicated private functions bar, right next door to Glass Goose. It's an exclusively hired space, so your group has the whole venue to yourselves for the evening. Baxter's holds up to 100 guests and suits corporate events, networking nights, birthday parties, engagement parties and hen parties. You're free to decorate and control the music via the iPad onsite (you can bring your own Spotify login), and a minimum spend and deposit apply to confirm.
